Nurses who seek to work in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi (which includes the namesake city and the more popular metropolis of Dubai) are required to take and pass an examination and must be licensed by the regulating body—the Health Authority- Abu Dhabi (HAAD).
This licensing body equally operates and maintains the regulatory framework for the health system in the Emirate, while also enforcing standards. Such regulatory actions has recently included requiring foreign nurses who seek to work in the Emirate to first undergo a credential verification process through a mechanism known as Dataflow and a subsequent examination administration process conducted online under the auspices of Pearson Vue Professional Testing.
The HAAD examination consists of 150 computer-based questions, with a duration of three hours.
